Another Day in Paradise

Yesterday was one of the longest days of my life. Woke up at 4 to get ready for the commuter stands (pics in previous post). Then had to work from 10-2 and after that we had a Bike Bakersfield Member Appreciation Picnic. It was kinda of a wake up call that we need to be doing more out in the public and get new members because out of our 200 members we apparently have only 5 or 6 people actually showed up. It was a super let down because here we are working our asses off to help the cycling community yet not many people are showing that they even care. We won't stop because we are helping a lot of people get on bikes everyday. They may not be the people giving us donations or helping us out at events but they are the ones coming in everyday just to feel like they belong to something and they are helping keep the shop/office in running order. Honestly with out all my volunteers we would be a lot worse off. But like I said we won't stop pushing forward. We won't stop spreading the word. We won't give up. Our organization is here for the long run...with some changes to come.
