SSFTA weekly rides

The Weekly Rides are a fun, social, gathering of mountain bikers but can be very physically demanding & challenging. Proper equipment is recommended for every ride, check out the Ride Checklist page. You are riding at your own liability so safety is your responsibility. The meeting point for all rides is the south parking lot of Juliet Thorner School unless otherwise noted.
While all levels of riders will be accommodated on any ride, the skill levels listed below are meant to inform riders of the general abilities of the group for that ride.

If you're not first, You're last: Alleycross recap

Last Saturday 13 brave racers got together to race the unknown. I had set up a race called Alley cross which was to be a mix of alleycat and cyclocross race. We started at the amphitheater at River Walk and headed into the trail system along the Kern river multi-use path. The racers were required to follow markings along the trails to a course where they would do 5 laps on. After each lap the racers were required to have a manifest signed off and then continue on to the next lap. After the 5th lap the racers were directed back to the start location and first one back was the winner. Pretty simple and straight forward. The grand prize was a total of $80. Dustin Came in first with a time of 30 mins. Pretty sweet time if ya ask me. Good friends good competition and good brews were flowing. keep your eyes peeled for the next one!

If you're not first you're last:Alley Cross

We will be having the next installment of the If you're not first you're last race series. This time it will have a bit of a twist. We will start at river walk and you will have to take trails to a location that will be revealed the day of and do a few laps on a DIY cyclocross course then race back to river walk. The event will have a $5 buy in and the winner takes all. Hope to see you all on race day!
